FIFAE Finals 2022 - On-site LED technician
During this event, I was part of the team installing over 1000m of inteliflex (light initiative product) out in Denmark for the FIFAE finals
Eurovision 2022 - On-site LED technician
I thoroughly enjoyed working on this event as part of the Light Initiative build team creating the custom double-sided led set pieces for the UK entry of Eurovision 2022 in Bradford. I was also very eager to travel to Turin (Italy) to help install this set piece on site along with also installing the Austrian set pieces.
South by South West 08/03/2022 - 22/03/2022 Lighting Designer /LX operator
This event was a huge opportunity for me, as it was the first festival that I had ever worked on. To top it off the festival was held in Austin Texas which provided its own set of unique challenges that had to be overcome to achieve a successful show. Studio A Theatre Arts 17/05/2021 lighting designer / LX operator
This event was a major point in my career because it was the first show I designed, built and operated from scratch. for this show, it was important to take into account how lighting affects camera shots as this dance show was being filmed for the end of year DVD. a testimonial from the organiser of this event can be found under the testimonials tab on this site.
LIGHT INITIATIVE 01/12/2019- 23/12/2019 On-site technician
During this month I was part of the team that installed the LED strip on the 8/10 cats set at BBC Elstree, I also participated in the strictly come dancing Christmas special de-rig, Graham Norton Christmas special get out and the first and last de-rig.
LIGHT INITIATIVE 18/08/2018 - 13/10/2019 Lab technician / LED install technician
During my time at Light Initiative, my main role was as a member of the lab team, testing and repairing led strip and other custom led products. I was also involved in many installs for shows such as X-factor (11/11/18), Graham Norton 16/06/19 and Strictly come dancing profiles/main set 02/09/19-03/09/19. While onsite for these events I was often required to work around/with other departments, this has helped me develop my communication skills to solve problems as they arose.
JK PRODUCTIONS 01/09/2019 Sound two
This event required me to supervise a team of 3 people while setting up a PA system, running power and building a stage while the sound one was setting up the sound desk after the set up was complete. I was then in charge of all 15 radio mics for the duration of the all-day event.
CDC Productions 06/07/2019 Sound two
This event was a production of Wind in the willows performed by children aged 6-16 this provided its own set of challenges. The main challenge was working with children who are impatient to get their mics on and off without causing any damage to the equipment.
paul bellman lighting services 24/06/2019 - 25/06/2019 LED technician
While working on Tipping point, I was responsible for looking after and resetting all of the Led controllers after every round played, this was necessary because of the “shelf” on the set moving back and forth creating lots of static that was causing the effects being run on the led strip to buffer and stop unexpectedly.
COLCHESTER INSTITUTE 13/05/2019-17/05/2019 Lighting designer
While undertaking the role of lighting designer I had to learn lots of new skills such as righting lighting design proposals, how to use 3D visualization software(capture), how to organize a rigging session to ensure that I made use of the limited time available in the venue and how to work within the limitations of the venue and the equipment available.
